What is the down time ?
Neuromodulators:
There is minimal to no down time. Patients typically return to their normal routine immediately.
Dermal fillers:
It is common to notice redness, swelling, bruising and soreness immediately after the procedure. However, this shouldn’t prevent you from returning to work after injections.
Chemical peels:
Expected down time for skin peeling and shedding, 3-7 days
Microneedling:
No down time. It is common to notice redness and soreness immediately after the procedure. However, this shouldn't prevent you from returning to work.
When will I see my results?
Neuromodulators:
Botox and Dysport results are typically seen as early as 5 days with full results in 2 weeks.
Dermal fillers:
Filler results are seen right away.
Chemical peels:
Most peeling occurs on days 3-5. Full results are seen in 7-14 days.
Microneedling:
Results are seen in 4-6 weeks
How long will my results last?
Neuromodulators:
Botox and Dysport results will typically last 3-4 months.
Dermal fillers:
Dermal filler results typically last 6-12 months.
Chemical peels:
Chemical peels can be repeated every 4-6 weeks.
Microneedling:
Sessions can be repeated every 4-6 weeks.
Will it hurt?
Neuromodulators:
The needle is extremely small and most patient's describe it as a tiny pin prick.
Dermal fillers:
Dermal filler are performed after a numbing gel is applied so there is little to no pain
Chemical peels:
You may experience some numbness or tingling once the first layer is applied.
Microneedling
There may be slight discomfort. However, numbing cream is applied to minimize pain from the procedure.
What are the side effects?
Neuromodulators:
Side effects are usually mild and transient and most commonly include swelling or bruising at the injection site, mild headache, or flu-like symptoms. Undesired impairment of muscle function may also occur, but is usually associated with poor injection technique or inappropriate patient selection. Because smaller doses are less likely to cause unintended adverse effects, a conservative approach to treatment is advisable.
Dermal fillers:
The most common early reactions/side effects of injectable soft tissue fillers include bruising, swelling and redness. The application of ice after injection may help to reduce swelling, and preoperative precautions regarding anticoagulating agents may help to reduce the severity of bruising.
Chemical peels:
The most common side effects of a medium chemical peel include: swelling, redness, and stinging.
Microneedling:
The most common side effects are redness, stinging, and sometimes bruising.
Can I get these services done if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
Botox, Dysport, Dermal filler injections, and chemical peels should not be used in pregnancy or when breastfeeding.
Microneedling can be performed, however, no numbing is applied.
